Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes. She has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve.

Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag.She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she finds the book she wants. You see the weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a second hand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow.

She’s the girl reading while waiting in that coffee shop down the street. If you take a peek at her mug, the non-dairy creamer is floating on top because she’s kind of engrossed already. Lost in a world of the author’s making. Sit down. She might give you a glare, as most girls who read do not like to be interrupted. Ask her if she likes the book.

Buy her another cup of coffee.

Let her know what you really think of Murakami. See if she got through the first chapter of Fellowship. Understand that if she says she understood James Joyce’s Ulysses she’s just saying that to sound intelligent. Ask her if she loves Alice or she would like to be Alice.

It’s easy to date a girl who reads. Give her books for her birthday, for Christmas and for anniversaries. Give her the gift of words, in poetry, in song. Give her Neruda, Pound, Sexton, Cummings. Let her know that you understand that words are love. Understand that she knows the difference between books and reality but by god, she’s going to try to make her life a little like her favorite book. It will never be your fault if she does.

She has to give it a shot somehow.

Lie to her. If she understands syntax, she will understand your need to lie. Behind words are other things: motivation, value, nuance, dialogue. It will not be the end of the world.

Fail her. Because a girl who reads knows that failure always leads up to the climax. Because girls who understand that all things will come to end. That you can always write a sequel. That you can begin again and again and still be the hero. That life is meant to have a villain or two.

Why be frightened of everything that you are not? Girls who read understand that people, like characters, develop. Except in the Twilightseries.

If you find a girl who reads, keep her close. When you find her up at 2 AM clutching a book to her chest and weeping, make her a cup of tea and hold her. You may lose her for a couple of hours but she will always come back to you. She’ll talk as if the characters in the book are real, because for a while, they always are.

You will propose on a hot air balloon. Or during a rock concert. Or very casually next time she’s sick. Over Skype.

You will smile so hard you will wonder why your heart hasn’t burst and bled out all over your chest yet. You will write the story of your lives, have kids with strange names and even stranger tastes. She will introduce your children to the Cat in the Hat and Aslan, maybe in the same day. You will walk the winters of your old age together and she will recite Keats under her breath while you shake the snow off your boots.

Date a girl who reads because you deserve it. You deserve a girl who can give you the most colorful life imaginable. If you can only give her monotony, and stale hours and half-baked proposals, then you’re better off alone. If you want the world and the worlds beyond it, date a girl who reads.♥ Or better yet, date a girl who writes.

Jesus is the light of life...

                I'd like to be a bearer of light to those people around me. No matter how small ,flickering or humble my light.. the darkness cannot overcome it. Surely, others will find themselves drawn to the light experiencing relief and gratitude that they too can finally see Jesus♥♥♥

                My heart was moved acknowledging that the only remedy for a dark world is the Light of Jesus. It would have been pointless for me to show anger or bitterness to those people who doesn't treat me good. Their behavior had been prompted by the evil one who had spiritually darkened their hearts and eyes.. so instead of askin' why people behaved so wrongly, my question became: How am i reflecting God's light to them?!

      ♥♥♥ I know the happiest person on earth is a righteous person. Righteousness is not a cod liver oil we have to swallow. Righteousness is shedding all of  the things that make us miserable and embracing fully the path God has laid out that leads to peace, joy, and fulfillment.

     The bible teaches in many places that the human heart is like a garden (isaiah 51:3) ” He will make her deserts like garden, Her wasteland like the garden of the Lord.”


- Our hearts is the immaterial part of us that know God; It’s the part that will live forever.


      If we weed and water and tend our heart as scriptures says to do, We will experience a bumper crop of God’s grace in our life. Conversely, If we garden our heart, It will become overgrown with weeds. Then it will become lifeless and dry. Eventually, it will blow away. That’s why I really take good care of my Heart. ^_^

  “Guard your Heart,” Common Sense would tell us to guard our heart with those we like, but was that what Solomon what speaking about? Now Solomon is said to be one of the wisest men if not the Wisest of men of all time. And to make a comment about such things as dating, I just can’t believe that is what he is meaning. You see dating wasn’t even something that happened in these days, so let us travel deeper into this thought.
   
   In the heart of a man is the wellspring of life. “The wellspring of life,” Crazy words to put to a man’s heart. Jesus himself said he was the water of life, this is saying that our heart is a wellspring of life. There is something very deep in a man’s heart. So deep that it is said that life starts here- In the Heart.

  “Above all else” Guard your heart. This is an important statement and so looked right past. This world has become a very shallow place to be, and the heart is not looked at as something important.
But yet why does your heart beat harder when you See or hear a story with someone truly living. When the hero wins the fight, when he kisses his bride, when he is captured by his enemy, you well up inside.

  We are meant to live. Not die! Our heart is meant to have life. But if we don’t learn to Guard our heart it is going to die or possably it already has. Have you ever wondered why people are so cruel? I do believe that it starts here. People fail to guard their heart and so it dies. The Heart is the center of ones being. It is where the true man starts. Without heart a man is just deed or reputation or nothing more than a program with limitations. Without a heart you’re only a man chained to a wall.

  Wake your hearts! Do what ever it takes to keep your heart alive, cause only then can you love. In which there is none greater than love.

LEARN TO ENJOY THE RIDE!!!!
                        One of the ways the lord has trained my heart to cultivate gratefulness is by teaching me to enjoy this ride called LIFE. There are goin’ to be challenges and hills to climb on this journey; that’s given. Once you know that hills and trials will always be there, you will be able to expect them and no longer be surprised by them, which will free you up and enable you to enjoy the RIDE. ^_^
